The Leafs have decent skill up front with Kessel, MacArthur, Grabovski, Kulemin, and Kadri and newly added Tim Connoly. There are some injury concerns surrounding Connoly and Kadri to start the season and MacArthur is suspended for the first two regular season games. The Leafs have to be careful not to get off to a slow start and fall too far behind too quickly.
The Leafs should see some improvement on the blueline this season with the additions of Liles and Franson to go along with Phaneuf and Schenn. If only Komisarek could live up to his potential the Leafs would really be a force on the back end.
The Leafs should at the very least battle for a playoff spot. If everything goes according to plans the Leafs could see some playoff action for the first time in a long time. But the NHL season is long and grueling and anything can happen.

The Leafs squeak into the 8th and final playoff spot in the East.
