NFL Week #6 Preview

 

 

Introduction:

What is different for week #6 of the NFL season? In week #6 we will have teams coming off of a bye week for the first time. Baltimore, Dallas, Miami, St. Louis, Washington, and Cleveland are all coming off a bye in week #5 and should be all rested and ready for week #6. Does coming off a bye help a team? Teams ususally play nbetter off a bye week although It is probably more beneficial to have a bye later in the season (as the players are more tired and beat up). Take the Baltimore Ravens for example, they are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games coming off a bye. Not too bad.

Week #6 features some intrigueing matchups. We will see the Cowboys travel to New England. Both Dez Bryant and Miles Austin practiced this week for Dallas so Romo should have reliable targets for this week. Dallas will need all the weapons they have to keep up with the Pats. The Patriots are currently a -7 favorite in this game with a high total of 55 at Bodog Sportsbook.

At 1-4 is it do or die for the Eagles as they visit the Redskins? The Redskins are 3-1 and coming off a bye whereas the Eagles are a complete trainwreck yet the Eagles are still a -2 road favorite at Bodog Sportsbook over the Skins. Is this the week Philly turns their season around?

The Vikings got off the snide last week with their first win off the season on a solid affor from Adrian Peterson. Can the Vikings keep it going on Sunday night against the Bears? The Bears are a -3 favorite in this game at Bodog. The week #6 Monday nighter features two struggling teams in the Dolphins and Jets. The Dolphins are coming off a bye week but they are 0-4 on the season and are without their QB Chad Henne. QB Matt Moore will be under center for the Fish this week. The Jets have lost 3 in a row (all on the road) but return home as a -7 favorite at Bodog in this contest.
