Wed June 8 NHL Pick: Canucks vs. Bruins Game #4

Canucks (2.00) vs. Boston Bruins (1.83); Total 5 1.77o

Bet at 5dimes

Preview:

The Bruins are coming off a big 8-1 win over the Canucks in game #3. However, overshadowing the Bruins win has been the Aaron Rome hit on Nathan Horton. Neither player will be in the lineup tonight - Horton beacause of a concussion and Rome because of a suspension. We saw in the Vancouver vs. Chicago series how the Torres cheap shot (I mean hit) seemed to spark the Blackhawks. After that hit the Blackhawks won the next three games and took the Canucks to the brink of elimination. Will this hit on Horton inspire the Bruins team in a similar fashion? From a goaltending perspective Tim Thomas has to be feeling good coming off a 40 save performance, many of which were of the impressive fashion. As for Luongo his confidence has to be at an all time low after a disastrous game #3 in which he allowed 8 goals. Ouch! We should be in for another good one tonight.

Odds for Game #4: (from 5 Dimes);

Bruins to win are paying 1.83 at 5 Dimes (compared to 1.60 for Boston on Proline)

Vancouver to win are paying 2.00 at 5 Dimes (compared to 1.90 for Vancouver on Proline)

The total for this game is 5 goals slightly favored to the Over.

Selection:

Going to go back to the Bruins to get the win in game #4 and even up the Stanley Cup Finals. The injury to Horton should spark the Bruins team and for the first time in the series you kind of get the feeling like the Bruins may have the edge in goal. We'll lay the short price with the Bruins in this one.
