Final game of a three game series goes tonight in St. Louis. The Phillies took the forst two games of the series (10-2 & 4-0) on strong pitching efforts from Halladay and Lee. Tonight they will send Oswalt to the mound looking for the sweep. However, Oswalt has not been himself since returning from an injury. Oswalt is just 1-4 in his last 7 starts dating back to May 17. One problem for Oswalt has been the velocity on his fastball. His fastball has not had the usual pop it has had in the past. As for the Cardinals they continue life without Albert Pujols (out for several weeks). And what is wrong with Chris Carpenter this season. The Cardianls ace is off to a terrible start this season posting a 1-7 record with a 4.47 ERA. With no Pujols in the lineup Carpenter needs to find his form quickly for the Cardinals to staty in the chase.
