Saturday June 4 MLB Pick: Rockies vs. Giants

Note the early 4:00 PM ET Start Time

Colorado Rockies (1.91) vs. San Francisco Giants (2.00); Total 6.5 -1.87o

The Rockies enter this game in a series funk having lost 8 of their last 10 games. The Rockies dropped the opener of the series last night 3-1. They will send Chacin (5-4; 3.33) to the mound to try and turn things around. Chacin had a good start to the season but has been roughed up a bit in his past few outings. In his last three starts Chacin is just 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA. His mound opponents for today's game will be the Giants 21 year old Bumgarner (2-6; 3.66). Unlike Chacin Bumgarner had a slow start to the season (0-6) has but has looked more like the dominant pitcher of last season in his last few starts. In his last 3 outings Bumgarner is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA, He faced the Rockies earlier this season on May 7 in Colorado allowing just 1 earned run of 6 innings of work.

Selection:

We like the Giants to win this game. Yes the Giants do have some injuries (Posey & Sandoval to name a few) but regardless we like them in this spot. The Rockies were never a good road team and this year in no exception (13-15). Compare that to the Giants who are 14-8 a home this season. In the Giants we get the much hotter team with the much hotter pitcher with a home field advantage that actually means something and we get them at an underdog price (+100 or 2.00 a Bodog). We'll take the Giants to come out on top in this game.
