Friday June 24 MLB Pick: Blue Jays vs. Cardinals

Toronto Blue Jays (1.95) vs. St. Louis Cardinals (1.95); Total 8 runs

Television: 8:00 PM ET on Sportsnet

Starting Pitchers:

Blue Jays: Morrow (5-6, 5.02 ERA); Last 3 Starts: (1-2, 4.76 ERA)

Cardinals: Westbrook (9-6, 5.16 ERA); Last 3 Starts: (2-1, 5.19 ERA)

Preview:

The Blue Jays travel to St. Louis after being swept in Atlanta. The Blue Jays bats have now gone ice, ice cold baby. The Jays have lost four in a row managing to score just 3 runs. The team is batting just .144 in these four games with Batista going just 2 for 15. As for the Cardinals they struggled in their first couple of games without Pujols but busted out last night lightning up Oswalt and the Phillie's bullpen for 12 runs. Can the Cards keep the runs coming tonight against the Jays. Will the Slumping Blue Jays turn it around tonight?

Selection:

Hard to bet on this Blue Jays team at the moment given their recent struggles. Now Brandon Morrow looked good in his last outing but Morrow has been anything but consistent this season. Hard to get excited by one good start for Morrow. Westbrook has not been great by any stretch this season either but he does seem to always keep his team in the game giving them a chance to win every night, hence his 9-6 record on the season. It seems the Cardinals are adjusting to life without Pujols. We are going to fade the ice cold Blue Jay bats and hope for the Cards to keep their bats hot. This game is a straight pick 'em and we are picking the Cardinals for 1.95 at Bodog Sportsbook.
